Time savings, reduced vibrations and an improved cooling effect combined with the usual excellent tool lifetime make the new TGD®+ Technology from Tyrolit the first choice for professional concrete drilling and sawing companies.

Tyrolit has achieved a milestone in the field of concrete processing with diamond tools with the progression of the successful and proven TGD® Technology: The new TGD®+ Technology enables an increased cutting performance of up to 25% compared to the established TGD® Technology, which revolutionises the processing of building materials – especially armed concrete – significantly.

TGD® Technology – a success story

TGD® Technology, known as TYROLIT GRAIN DISTRIBUTION, was introduced to the market by Tyrolit in 2009 and stands for the targeted distribution of diamonds in drill bit and saw blade segments. The deliberately arranged diamonds allow for an even load distribution, optimised cooling and a consistently high cutting performance with low stress on the machines. ‘In recent years, the sales figures for core drill bits, wall and floor sawing blades with TGD® Technology increased continuously. The demand is high. At the same time, we are recognising the market’s desire for even greater efficiency and cutting ability’, says Wolfgang Wiefler, Managing Director of Tyrolit Construction.

In line with the motto ‘Constantly improving what is good’, as well as in order to measure up with the current market requirements, Tyrolit now launches the further development of TGD® Technology: As the name already suggests, the new TGD®+ Technology offers an increase in cutting ability, performance, cooling as well as user-friendliness, and, thus, ensures even more economical and efficient working.

TGD®+ Technology is characterised by an innovative bonding system that enables different degrees of hardness and smooth transitions within the diamond segment. In combination with different diamond grit qualities, this improves smooth operation and ensures a balanced distribution of load. This targeted profile control minimises power losses and maximises efficiency, which also increases the self-sharpening effect of the segment and, thus, the overall tool.

The first dry drill bits with TGD®+ Technology are already successfully in use on the market. ‘The launch of the new core drill bits at Bauma 2025 was utterly successful, the response on this novelty was very positive. Therefore, we are happy to announce that the launch of further product groups with this technology is just waiting around the corner’, says Stefan Rengo, product manager at Tyrolit. Wall saw blades will already follow in the course of 2025 and the wet core bit range at the beginning of 2026.
