Microsoft ERP, CRM and Power Platform digital transformation specialist, Nexer Enterprise Applications, has appointed Matt Birtwistle as manufacturing industry lead, strengthening the business’ consultancy within one of the UK’s most complex and highly regulated sectors.
Matt joins Nexer from HSO, where he spent more than seven years advising on complex Microsoft-based ERP and digital transformation programmes for large, highly regulated manufacturing organisations. He brings more than 30 years’ experience working across manufacturing sub-sectors including engineering, chemicals, food and beverage, life sciences and automotive, and has operated within the Microsoft partner ecosystem since the early 2000s. He has also held a senior role at Cognizant, leading enterprise-scale transformation programmes across platforms including Microsoft Dynamics.
The senior appointment supports Nexer’s continued efforts to support UK manufacturing through digital transformation, as organisations face increasing pressure to improve agility, resilience and operational efficiency while managing rising costs, regulatory requirements and ongoing disruption.
In his role, Matt will lead Nexer’s manufacturing strategy, with responsibility for acquiring new manufacturing customers, expanding relationships with Nexer’s existing manufacturing client base, and ensuring sales activity remains closely aligned with delivery quality and long-term customer outcomes.
Matt Birtwistle, manufacturing industry lead at Nexer Enterprise Applications, said: “Manufacturers are under growing pressure to move faster, but many remain constrained by systems and processes that make transformation slow, expensive or high risk and lack the intel to boost forecasting and productivity.
“Nexer’s agility and outcome focus stood out to me – particularly its emphasis on helping manufacturers start where it matters most, build momentum quickly, and realise tangible value from technology in a practical, phased way.”
Martin Burden, managing director at Nexer Enterprise Applications in the UK, added: “Matt brings extensive manufacturing expertise and a strong track record delivering complex Microsoft transformation programmes at scale. His experience will be instrumental as we strengthen our position in UK manufacturing and help customers modernise with greater speed, confidence and control.”
