Product safety certification specialists, ExVeritas, have issued their first IECEE certificate after the recent expansion of the IECEE CB scheme.
Following extensive testing, the certification was successfully granted to a new piece of communications technology, enabling it to now be sold in more than 50 countries.
The IECEE CB scheme (IEC System for Conformity Assessment Schemes for Electrotechnical Equipment and Components Certification Body) is an international system for mutual acceptance of test reports and certification to verify that electronic products, components and equipment are reliable and safe for use.
The scheme was recently expanded to unify standards across more than 50 countries.

UK-based ExVeritas specialise in testing and certifying products as safe for use within UK, European, US and international standards, including the IECEE CB.
Under the IECEE CB scheme, ExVeritas test products against IEC 62368-1 and IEC 61010-1.
The scheme covers more than 20 categories of products and testing, including batteries, cables, energy efficiency, electrical vehicles, industrial automation, laboratory equipment, office equipment, photovoltaics, electric toys and consumer electronics.
In late 2025, the IECEE expanded the scope of its key standard in response to the rapid growth of artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT) and sustainability on electrotechnical products.
“UK and European standards are widely respected and any change which increases their international relevance is great for businesses. In a time of high innovation, it cuts time and costs and enables our clients to get new products to market quicker” adds Paul.
The IECEE CB scheme is particularly applicable to low-voltage electronic or electromechanical technology which can be commonplace in both workplaces and homes.
Under the IECEE CB scheme rules, product testing delivered by ExVeritas to IEC standards can now be recognised by accreditation bodies in countries including the UK, USA, China, Japan and most of Europe.
As an NCB (National Certification Body), ExVeritas are accredited to issue their own certificates. Alongside this, they issue UKCA ‘Ex’, ATEX and IECEx certification for customers across the globe.
