Farnell will showcase a wide range of industrial and process control solutions and present two technical workshops with leading global suppliers Omega Engineering and Festo at Stand E28.

Farnell, an Avnet company and global distributor of electronic components, products and solutions, today announced its participation at this year’s Manufacturing Expo, taking place at the NEC in Birmingham on June 8-9. As a major sponsor, Farnell will showcase its growing industrial automation and control product range of more than 80,000 competitively priced solutions, and broad electronics portfolio, to support design and maintenance engineers. Part of Manufacturing Engineering Week, the Manufacturing Expo is the largest event in the UK for industrial professionals wanting to discover the latest innovations and new technologies.   • Workshop #1 – Omega Engineering: Sensing incredible things

Wednesday 8th June from 11am-11.40am

Omega will discuss the potential for non-invasive temperature measurement and product advancement as well as integrated sensor-to-the-cloud capabilities. Attendees will find new ways to use Omega sensing products to address specific infrastructure and environmental conditions. Presenters will include Simon Meadmore, Vice President of Global Product and Supplier Management at Farnell and Omega’s David Tranter, Sales and Product Manager EMEA, and Conrad Blenkinsop, Business Unit Director EMEA.

  • Workshop #2 – Festo: Reduce compressed air energy consumption in production

Thursday 9th June from 11am-11.40am

Farnell’s Simon Meadmore and Andy Parker-Bates, Relationship Development Manager, Festo UK & Ireland, will present the workshop. Participants will learn about different approaches to reduce energy loss associated with compressed air systems commonly used in manufacturing and production. 

“With our global supplier partners Farnell can support small to medium sized companies to upgrade legacy systems to smart networks using edge computing; improve energy efficiency and productivity while reducing production costs; and limit production downtime with new approaches to predictive and preventative maintenance.
