RDM named Apprenticeship Development Business of the Year

Company News

RDM Electrical & Mechanical Services has been named Apprenticeship Development Business of the Year at the Swansea Bay Business Awards 2020, at a ceremony held on Friday 6 March in Swansea’s Brangwyn Hall.

The Swansea-based company overcame tough competition from some of the most established businesses in the Swansea area, walking away with the Apprenticeship Development Business of the Year award at the prestigious event hosted by TV presenter Frances Donovan.

The Swansea Bay Business Awards are the largest and most highly respected awards in the Swansea Bay region, celebrating some of the most significant successes in business in the area through recognising top firms and the individuals involved.

RDM is rightly very proud of its apprenticeship commitments and achievements, and over the years, the company has gained a positive reputation for producing award-winning apprentices.

Many of the company’s employees start out as apprentices, learning through JTL training. The apprentice route is carried out over four years and throughout this period, RDM is able to identify future engineers who can progress further within the company, even to managerial roles. RDM heavily invests in the development of its staff, and much managerial time and money is invested in those requiring further education.

Mark Sainsbury, RDM mechanical director, said:

“We are delighted to have been named Apprenticeship Development Business of the Year. The quality of nominations at this year’s awards was – as always – extremely high, and we are truly honoured to have won.”
