A customer rang HPC recently to enquire about replacing his HPC KAESER SK25 rotary screw compressor, which he has had for 38 years. It was still running fine, with its original motor and airend. In fact, he plans on keeping it as a backup.

This is by no means unusual. Many of our customers are still running the same compressor they bought 25+ years ago – and frequently with original components.

How is this?

Quite simply, we don’t believe in doing things on the cheap. And we don’t believe in planned obsolescence. HPC KAESER compressed air equipment is built to last. We’re famous for it.

Some compressed air equipment brands appeal to customers because they are the cheaper option. But a few years down the road, customers find they are forced to replace their equipment, not least because it can’t be repaired.

Unlike other manufacturers, which prioritise repeat business by setting nominal product lifetimes, HPC KAESER’s business model and design briefs ensure that our machines will be with our customers for the long haul, providing you with genuine value for money.

Energy Efficiency

The UK currently has the highest industrial electricity prices in Europe. Finding ways to save energy, then, matters more than ever.

One way to do this is to look at your compressed air supply. Often referred to as the “fourth utility”, compressed air typically accounts for more than 10% of a company’s energy bills. However, it can sometimes be as high as 30%.

Specific Power is the ratio of total energy used by the compressor and its compressed air output (at a stated pressure). The lower the Specific Power of a compressor, the greater the efficiency, and the higher the energy cost savings.

Many other brand manufacturers entice customers on the pretext of cheaper priced compressors. While this may offer an initial outlay saving, customers will end up paying many times more over this difference in unnecessary energy costs.
