Further Staff Investment Key to Ward CNC Growth

Company News

Following a year of exceptional business growth in 2019, T W Ward CNC Machinery Ltd (Ward CNC) is ramping up its staff levels with several key new additions to the team. The additional team members are being announced to underpin the current growth trajectory, but also to support the new ‘More Than Machines’ philosophy, which is dedicated to enhancing the already impressive commitment to customer service and support.

As a company with a heritage that dates back more than 140 years, the prestige, reputation and stature of Ward CNC is beyond reproach; an industry prominence that is bolstered by the quality of the brands the Sheffield founded company partners in the UK. The new managerial structure at Ward CNC and the implementation of a ‘More Than Machines’ strategy is emphasising how the company is delivering first-class service for the complete ‘life-cycle’ of a machine tool. The new staff will be dedicated to further enhancing customer experience from the initial introduction and application requirements through to sales, delivery, installation, training, service, spares, consumable goods and technical support.

Richard Hunter Rowe

At the top of the process chain, Ward CNC has appointed Richard Hunter Rowe as the new Head of Sales Operations. Joining the company in January, Richard is a member of the senior management team and his role will be to devise national sales strategies and operational support plans whilst supporting the sales operation. Richard will ensure the sales team is positioned to deliver growth objectives and fiscal budgets as well as shaping future strategic objectives.

Richard has extensive experience across the manufacturing, logistics, wholesale and retail sectors and his most recent appointment was with £800m turnover electrical wholesaler, Rexel UK, as the Head of Sales Support. Richard is a specialist in change management, project and sales management and he is a Prince2 practitioner with particular expertise in CRM systems.

Andy Dolan

Commenting upon this appointment, Ward CNC’s Executive Director, Mr Stephen Bodsworth says: “We are delighted with the addition of Richard to the sales structure, an appointment that is adding to the employment of David Rawson as the new Area Business Manager for the Yorkshire, East & Humber and Nottingham region at the end of 2019. We have also now employed Andrew Dolan, as the new Area Business Manager for Midlands and the East. Following an apprenticeship in the 1980’s, Andrew spent 14 years as an application engineer with a world leading machine tool builder and this has been followed by more than 15 years as a sales manager with various machine tool companies. This combination of application and sales experience is exactly what we want to be providing our customers.”

“With regard to our new Head of Sales Operations, Richard will be an integral part of our ‘More Than Machines’ strategy, focusing upon not only managing the sales operation, but also customer relationships, experience and how we integrate the ‘More Than Machines’ strategy into every facet of our business.”

Adding to the fresh appointments in the sales division, Ward CNC has also appointed Steve Iles as a new Technical Support Engineer (Electrical). Steve will report to Mario DeVito, the Head of Technical Engineering and will work alongside Jason Kahler, Technical Support Engineer (Mechanical).  Steve has more than 20 years’ experience as an electrical service engineer, working both nationally and internationally with a range of production equipment and CNC machinery during his career.

“Adding a support engineer with the experience of Steve is a huge positive for our clients. Moreover, this appointment is a clear commitment to Ward CNC customers and a demonstration of our aims to enhance services and support through our ‘More Than Machines’ strategy. All of these appointments are a significant investment for the business, but we are confident that it will reap both short term rewards for manufacturers and long-term rewards for Ward CNC and its technology partners,” concludes Mr Bodsworth.
