Norton supports trades with free online training

UK based abrasives specialist, Norton, is promoting the importance of training by offering free online live webinars to support metal fabricators after the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

It’s no secret that since the pandemic began in March 2020, ever-changing restrictions and limited face-to-face time quickly began to take its toll on workshops and construction sites across the UK, including on all-important training.

As the industry has had to adapt to remote working and learning, Norton has begun offering a series of webinars covering a variety of topics – from weld removal to composite polishing.

The online sessions have been designed to be concise, informative and interactive, demonstrating just why Norton is one of the UK’s leading abrasives manufacturers and explaining how to make the most out of the brand’s many unique product features.

Taking place on Microsoft Teams, the webinars will be hosted by European Application Engineer, Paul Gray, who will be accompanied by a relevant Product Manager for each webinar.

Sessions coming up for the remainder of the year are:

  • Composite panel sanding & polishing, with Norton & Farécla – Friday 3rd December, 10am – 11am GMT
  • Cordless grinders, how/why the choice of disc impacts performance – Friday 3rd December, 2pm – 3pm GMT

Featuring some of Norton’s most popular product ranges: A293 sanding discs, Pure ICE, Quantum3, Blaze and Vortex, the webinars will help participants identify which products to use and how to use them to achieve that perfect finish and improve day-to-day operational efficiencies.

The webinar sessions have been a huge hit so far with engineers, and maintenance and repair technicians across sectors, and will also be extended into 2022 upon high demand. Previous Norton Live webinars are available to view on the Norton Abrasives YouTube channel to provide a taster of what to expect, alongside other useful how-to videos – www.youtube.com/nortonabrasivesemea.

The Norton webinars also reflect the values of its parent company, Saint-Gobain Abrasives, who has donated more than £125k to fund new apprentice start-ups as part of the AutoRaise Apprenticeship Levy Transfer Scheme – enabling 10 new apprentices to be taken on in their respective bodyshops.
